A gorgeous summer Sunday.\u00a0 We were driving back to Boston. Traffic was bad\u00a0on the Mass Turnpike so we got off in Palmer and took\u00a0Route 20 past the I-84 traffic jam. We had just visited an elderly uncle who wasn’t doing well. He had been going in and out of a rehabilitation facility recovering from a bout of something or other. No sooner would he get home then he’d come down with something and be back in rehab. It was tough on him and his family.<\/p>\n

We rode along. \u00a0Then we got talking about the Hamburger Wars. All the classic fast-food burger chains fighting against\u00a0the upstart fresh-burger shacks. \u00a0We decided to go to Wendy’s<\/em> for lunch because we hadn’t been there in a while.<\/p>\n

“It’s coming up on the left,”I said.<\/p>\n

“I thought it was beyond the last McDonald’s,” she said.<\/p>\n

We ate\u00a0lunch. The burger’s were okay. We talked a bit about my uncle and my cousins, and who was going to take care of us<\/em> when we<\/em>\u00a0were\u00a0old and sick.<\/p>\n

Then we got back in the car and resumed our drive, beyond the last McDonald’s.<\/p>\n
