But alas, there is no recourse , no authority to appeal to remedy this\u00a0meteorological injustice. The calendar says spring is ten days old here in New England, but winter lingers on.<\/p>\n<p>But so do the lava-lamps!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/christopherdonahue.com\/\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/lava-lamps-02.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-1346\" src=\"https:\/\/christopherdonahue.com\/\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/lava-lamps-02-300x91.jpg\" alt=\"lava lamps 02\" width=\"300\" height=\"91\" srcset=\"https:\/\/christopherdonahue.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/lava-lamps-02-300x91.jpg 300w, https:\/\/christopherdonahue.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/lava-lamps-02-1024x309.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Each year on the first day of winter, we put our lava-lamps in the front windows\u00a0to light the way wayward travelers.\u00a0Nothing defies\u00a0the winter chill quite like glowing, slow-pulsing lava lamps.\u00a0\u00a0Three months later, on the first day of spring, we take them down.
